CapForge Founder and Owner Matt Remuzzi reacts to this person’s theory on motivation.

Business Advice Video:

I have this theory that 99% of people on the internet that say they wanna make a lot of money and change their life. Wanna have this lifestyle. They have these dreams to entrepreneurs actually lying to themselves. The reason why I’ve been able to come up with this theory is because few years ago I decided to give away all my courses for free, not to pay me a single dollar. And there’s over 100 hours of content in these courses. It’s actually helped a hundred people make over a million dollars. And I get messages all the time people being like “Oh look I hit 10K a month with your free course”. And there’s all these people on the internet, they’re like “Oh if it’s free you’re the product”. You’re so skeptical. But you know what, they also tell me “Oh I wanna make money. Show me how.” So there’s all these people say they wanna have success but even when the opportunities present themselves they’re not willing to actually go out and spend a week going through an entire course. Show you how to go from zero to making millions.

Matt:

Okay. I’m not really sure what the point of that was. There’s a lot of people out there that would like to be handed $1,000,000. There’s a much much smaller pool of people who are actually willing to do the work to get to that point. Whether you ask them to pay for a course on how to do it or you give them the course free, doesn’t really change how motivated they are to actually do it. Just because somebody’s been willing to pay 100 bucks or even a 1000 bucks for a course, a lot of times the people who buy those courses feel like “Well now that I bought the course, I did the hard work. right? I mean the rest of it should be easy. The money will just flow.” They don’t actually stop and look through the course and figure out what they need to do and put the time and effort in and then realize the benefits of that course. So whether it’s free or they paid for it doesn’t change how motivated they are. People are really motivated will figure out how to do it, course or not. People who just wanna have the easy road and just have the money and the lifestyle without the hard work, they’re not gonna make, it’s not, it’s not the 500 bucks for the course that’s holding them back. That’s the whole mindset of how much do they really want it. “I’d like to drive a Ferrari but I don’t really wanna put the work in so I’m willing to drive my Toyota Corolla because that’s about the level of effort I’m willing to commit.” So that’s the that’s the issue. It’s not that you gave your courses away for free and that didn’t make all the difference. That never was gonna make the difference. It’s really the internal motivation to do it or not do it. And I think that’s the point. The people who wanna do it will find a way to do it. The people who just want the end result most of them are never gonna put the effort in, no matter how easy you try to make it for them.
