Will an Anti-Snoring Trainer Actually Work?

We’re back again with another startup from an Indiegogo project. In this video, Matt reviews the Snorels product. This product implies it helps a person stop snoring by training the tongue muscles. The problem is, like some other products we’ve reacted to, that they didn’t show the evidence behind this implication.

CapForge has worked with 1000+ ecommerce businesses and other small businesses and has seen some great products out there!

In this series, we look at new products on the market and see if they are worth investing in. Think along the lines of Shark Tank, but with no real money involved just for fun.

At times what appears to be an insurmountable problem can often be resolved with ease. Meet Snorles. Your anti-snoring training device. Snoring happens when the air flows through the mouth is partially blocked during sleep. Snorles provides 10 adjustable intensity levels for muscle training. Helping you maintain muscle tone and ensuring a peaceful night sleep. It fits with ease into your lifestyle because it doesn’t demand your time. Doesn’t require you to be in a specific location for its use. Snore less, sleep more.

Matt’s Review:

Interesting products. It looks like it must be fairly expensive because – well they had a low goal but they raised $56,000 already. But I would imagine building electronic device like this is pretty expensive. $56,000 probably doesn’t even cover it. So this may just be something they’re doing for marketing. It looks like the implication is that if your tongue is weak then you snore. And so it seems like this is training your tongue to be stronger or in the right position. Cause you’re not doing it when you’re sleeping, you’re doing it when you’re awake. So they’re stimulating your tongue muscle to be in a better position so then when you sleep it doesn’t relax and roll back and cause snoring. It seems to me if this was something that, you know, was already sort of understood and scientifically established then this would already be a thing that was available to help prevent snoring. So I don’t know if this is just their theory on what might help. Or how many times they’ve tried it. Or how they know how effective it will be. Or if you spend what is probably a significant amount on one of these things, what’s the likelihood of success? That would have been great if they had covered some of that. Like helps 3 out of 4 people stop snoring within four weeks of use. Or, you know, guaranteed for at least 50% of people and if it doesn’t work for you, you know, send it back for a refund or something. They didn’t talk at all about how well this works or how many people it works for. So that makes me wonder if it – how effective it really is. or if they even know. Or if they’re just trying this out, it’s a theory but it’s not tested. So I think that’s the big missing piece. They’re talking about a problem which is real. They’re offering a solution which is unique. But they have completely missed the part where they talk about how effective and how good this solution might be. So I think if they had done that they might have had a lot more success. They might have a lot more success. On the flip side, if they don’t know and this is just a theory and it really might not work at all, then I don’t think this thing is gonna be around for very long. So I guess we’ll see what happens. If all of a sudden the solution to snoring is all over the place and it’s this tongue trainer then we know it worked. If we never see it again then we know it was somebody’s idea for how this problem might be solved, but it didn’t actually pan out.
