Business Advice Video:

Right when I was gonna give up on drop shipping, I changed one thing, and boom so many sales! And this is exactly what I did so you guys can do the same thing too. I tried selling these products and none of them worked. And they did not work because of one reason, they did not solve an immediate insecurity or problem that people were having. So instead of picking products that look good and might sound like it actually solves the problem, I want you to ask yourself does this solve the insecurity? Like, help people whiten their teeth, help people lose weight, help people sleep better at night. You need to find products that people are in need of. Those are the products that are going to make you the most money, whether you are good at marketing or not.

Matt’s Review:

Okay, so if I’m selling something that people have insecurity about I’m gonna have a surefire business hit? There are so many people selling teeth whitening just as one example. There’s dentists selling it, there’s products that do it, there’s mail-order or dropship products that do it. There’s creams and paste and you know things that look like a mouth guard that you put filling stuff in and put that in your mouth. There’s strips, there’s huge companies that sell it, there’s companies you’ve never heard of that sell it. And I mean really I guess at the end of the day, how much of an emergency is having white teeth? I don’t know. So just because people might have an insecurity about it, I don’t think that automatically makes it a good product. What makes a good product is something that addresses a specific set of customers’ wants, whether it’s a need or a nice to have, in a way that’s different than anything they’re gonna get from anybody else. You’re offering a unique solution that some subset of customers finds more valuable than their other options. That doesn’t have to be something that they need or cover some insecurity that they have. It could be something that just works better than other options. I mean I don’t think anybody needs an IKEA couch, right? So why did IKEA become a billion-dollar company? Because what people wanted was affordable furniture that they could fit in their apartments or smaller spaces and that’s what Europe needed at that time, and you know they could provide that. Furniture that traditional furniture makers couldn’t make at that price point in volume. Nothing to do with insecurity but they built a billion-dollar business around it.

So these kind of “I know what you need”, and “I know how to fix your business”, and “I know how to make you successful” speeches that you find on TikTok, it worked for her, great. Whatever she was doing that, you know, wasn’t working before and then she changed, but that doesn’t mean that’s the secret for everybody or anybody who follows that model is gonna find success, because that just isn’t how the world works. You have to find your own niche, and your own reason for finding customers, or to find customers who are gonna buy from you because what you got is better than what other people have. Or else you’re just gonna get a tiny tiny slice because they just happened to find you in the moment that they were looking for that and your offer seemed okay. But you’re not gonna build a long-term, sustainable, large business around getting lucky. So that, that’s my advice is always is to build a real solid sustainable business and not try to hop on tricks and trends and hacks that people are suggesting to fix problems you may not even have.
