These are the things we do for our clients to provide a professional, top notch bookkeeping and accounting service:

Work Timing

Your bookkeeping needs to be timely and we guarantee you will get your numbers on time, or early, every time. Since we aren’t a one person shop like so many others, you never have to worry we will be out sick, on vacation or just disappear as so often happens with other providers.

Your monthly work will be back in your hands by the 10th of the following month or sooner. If you are on the weekly plan, you will get your numbers each week by the 5th day after the prior week ends, or sooner.

Some of our work depends on you getting information to us, but we will never be the ones holding up the process. And we work hard every day to make it as easy as possible for you to do your part!

Reconciling with No Adjustments

Some bookkeepers will get an account “close” and then enter an adjustment when they can’t find something. Other bookkeepers will find every last penny, but since they are hourly that last $5 just cost you $25 for them to find! We reconcile 100% every time, and because you pay us a fixed price, it doesn’t matter if it takes us five minutes or five hours- your price doesn’t change. You get perfect books at a fantastic price, every time!

Bank Checking Accounts

The heart of your business is your bank checking account. We will enter all the transactions, classify them correctly and make sure they match with the bank statement. If the bank makes a mistake, we will alert you. If deposits don’t match, get returned, or there are bank fees where there shouldn’t be, we will alert you. And if money ever goes missing or unaccounted for- we will alert you! All you have to do is write the checks and complete the register we provide. We do everything else.

Bank Savings Accounts

Many people use their savings accounts either not at all, or to hold small amounts or to hold their sales tax or other payments due. No matter how you use, we’ll make sure it doesn’t fall through the cracks.

Merchant Accounts

It’s a rare restaurant these days that doesn’t accept credit cards, which means having one or more merchant accounts. We will make sure the deposits are going in and the fees are recorded. If we see you are paying more in fees than is typical, we can help you either negotiate a lower rate or move to a different provider.

Debit Cards

Debit cards tied to the business bank are a handy way to make small purchases and keep track of them- much better than using cash. We will enter and track all purchases and make sure the account reconciles every time.

Credit Cards

Lots of restaurant owners use credit cards when money is tight or just because it is so easy to earn points and bonuses. Either way, we will enter and track your purchases, keep track of your running balance, interest expense and fees and make sure there aren’t any unexplained charges showing up.

Lines of Credit

A bank line of credit can be a good way to juggle inventory swings, handle emergency equipment fixes or meet a payroll tax deadline. If you have one, we will track the balance, payments and interest and keep it all straight.

Inventory and COGS

Inventory may be the biggest expense in your business. Or not. Either way, we have a couple of ways we can help you track it, and we can help you set targets and monitor your spending so you can maximize your bottom line while still balancing purchase levels with quantity discounts, space considerations and spoilage and aging issues.

Payroll and Labor Cost

Payroll is another big cost you want to track and we can work with your payroll reports (or help you get payroll set up or switch to a better provider) so you can manage this expense without spending a lot of time on it.

Sales Tax

The state wants their cut and you are required to track it and pay it. We can make sure this is reflected properly on the books and even help you calculate and make payments if needed.

Loans and Leases

Do you have a loan, a lease or both? We can make sure the balances are correct, payments are correctly applied and you are getting credit for interest and fees paid.

Fixed Asset Tracking

All the improvements you made the the space and the equipment and fixtures you installed are part of the value of the business- it should be counted! And not only is it value, but it is worth a ton in tax deductions! We can make sure you’ve got your in the right place and are getting full credit for your investment.

1099s

The IRS requires certain vendors who make more than $600 in a given year are tracked and issued a 1099. We can take care of this for you. If you don’t do it right, the IRS could come after you for the taxes- not a fun thought!

Reporting

You want to get something from all the number crunching we are doing, and you will! We provide regular reports of your profit and loss, your balance sheet and we can break it down several different ways. We also make sure you understand the numbers and you know what they can be and should be to maximize your business. And we can do all kinds of custom reporting, should you want it, and we can also provide reports to others, such as banks or investors, if you request that we do (and if not, everything is 100% confidential for your eyes only!).

Chart of Accounts

In most cases we set this up according to normal restaurant accounting practices, but if you have a unique situation, or are part of a franchise that requires something different, we can do it.

Check Registers

Aside from actually writing the checks, the only part of the process you need to do is keep a record of the checks you write. Even easier, with view only bank access we can view the check images and not have to ask. Or some banks include the check images are part of the statement. Whatever the case, we try to make it as simple as possible for you to get us the info we need.

Contracts

We put everything in writing so you know exactly what you are getting and what you are paying. And our contract is month to month so you are never locked in- we want to earn your business every month!

Our Guarantee

If anything needs to be fixed, adjusted or there is an error, we will take care of it, no extra charge. No matter how long it takes us. Of course we strive to be error free every time all the time, but if once in a blue moon an error occurs, we take full responsibility and fix it immediately. If you are ever truly dissatisfied and we can’t make it better, then of course we will refund your last payment in full, no questions asked.
